Sensei
The space opened in June 2006 with a seven week series of conceptual works assembled by Lisa Kirk of LEGION (legionnyc.com).
The artists featured during the LEGION at Sensei series included: Ricardo Valentim, Rose Kallal, KABOOM! Press, William McMillin, Robert Melee, Luis Agusto Leduc and two videos by Trevor Shimizu presented by Josh Kline.
August 2006 marked the debut of the Sensei Lab Series which specifically features the work of new and developing artists. In addition, the Lab series will introduce experimental works by mid-career artists. And, the series seeks to continue the rhythm set forth by the LEGION effort, by introducing new artists every week. The series is assembled by Joseph Latimore.
The August and September calendars featured the following artists Alam Tipu, Azikiwe Mohammed, Edy Ferguson,Charles Papillo, Bryan Schneider, Manuel Gomez, Sophie Churchill, Diane Naegal, Jeremy Parrigan. Liz Richardson, Alexis Kochanski, Karen Suroweic, Paula DiGoia, Constantine Gedal, Jason Fosco and Kacper Dolatowski.
